The Brazil 2 Reais is part of the 2010 - 2016 banknote series bearing tactile elements to aid the vision-impaired distinguish between denominations. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition. Its obverse side depicts the bust of the countrys personification, Republica. On the reverse of the banknote is a Hawksbill sea turtle known as Tartaruga Marinha or Eretmochelys imbricata swimming among corals and starfish. While the banknote doesnt have a security thread, its security attributes include a registration device showing a puzzle number and a watermark that reflects a sea turtle and electrotype 2. The banknote is 121 x 65 mm in size and is made of paper. Furthermore, it bears the signatures of Henrique Meirelles and Alexandre Antonio Tombini.
