This uncirculated 1 Chinese yuan note is part of the 1999 Mao Tse-tung series issued by the People’s Bank of China. It is a green note that measures 130 mm x 63 mm. Its obverse side features Mao Tse-tung, the Communist leader of China. Its reverse side depicts “Three Ponds, Reflecting the Moon” with the Western Lake in Huangzhou. Though the note does not have a security thread, it has a watermark that shows an orchid and an electrotype 1.
