This uncirculated 20 Ukrainian hryvnia note is a commemorative banknote issued by the National Bank of Ukraine to commemorate the 1st anniversary of the armed conflict between Russia and Ukraine. It is a blue and yellow note that has the theme “We will not forget! We will not forgive!” It is dated 2023, bears the signature of Andriy Pyshnyy, and measures 165 mm x 80 mm. Both sides of the note are vertically oriented. Its obverse side features the photo “Ukrainian soldiers are hoisting a flag” by Oleksandr Smirnov against the backdrop of fragments of the map of Ukraine and the flags of the countries that support Ukraine. Its reverse side shows a stylized composition of the physical and mental suffering Ukrainians face under occupation—hands tied behind a person’s back, crumpled cloth, a bullet wound in the form of a poppy flower, stylized wings made from candle flames, destroyed houses, and a crown of thorns. Security features include a colored composition consisting of a guilder rose and an anti-tank hedgehog. The note comes with a limited edition folder card.
