The Sri Lanka 50 Rupees banknote was issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 2005. It features a color combination of blue and green and includes texts in English, Sinhala, and Tamil. The obverse side depicts a Kandyan dancer with an ornate headdress. The reverse side is vertically oriented and includes butterflies, the Jetavan and Thuparama stupas in Anuradhapura, a shield, and an ornamental sword. Security features of the note include a solid security thread with “CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA RUPEES FIFTY” printed on it and a watermark that shows a lion holding a whip with an electrotype sword. The banknote measures 136 mm x 68 mm and bears the signatures of Mahinda Rajapaksa and Ajith Nivard Cabraal. This particular banknote is in uncirculated condition.
