This uncirculated 5 Romanian leu note is a standard circulation banknote issued by the National Bank of Romania. It is a purple, violet, blue, brown, and orange polymer note that is dated 01 January 2018/(20)19, bear the signatures of Ionel Nitu and Dr. Mugur Constantin Isarescu, and measures 127 mm x 67 mm. Its obverse side features the crowned coat of arms, a carnation flower (Dianthus dianthus), a musical score underprint, the BNR monogram, two musical notes, a violin, and a portrait of composer George Enescu. Its reverse side shows the BNR monogram, the musical score from the “King Oedip” opera, and a view of the Romanian Athenaeum concert hall in Bucharest. Though the note is made of polymer, it has security features including a lyre registration device, a simulated solid security thread, and a shadow image of George Enescu and the BNR monogram.
