This Japan 50 Sen banknote was released in 1945 during WWII. It measures 105 x 65 mm with a patriotic theme design. The banknote’s obverse side features the historic Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, the imperial crest, the red seal of the Minister of Finance, and a kite in flight. The reverse side features an aerial view of a mountain with a Guilloche pattern on the side. The note does not contain any security threads however a Paulownia flowers watermark is visible under UV light.
