This Hong Kong 5 Dollar banknote from 1971 has a dimension of 142 x 79 mm. Printed on its front design is the crowned Coat of Arms depicting a lion and unicorn rampant, a sailing ship at sea, a Chinese junk, and a seated allegorical woman. The reverse side features a winged female angel with trumpet and the 3rd HSBC headquarters building in Central District, Hong Kong, the stripped classical style building served as the government headquarters during the Japanese invasion in World War II. The note does not contain any security threads however a watermark image of a helmeted warriors head in profile and numeric 5 is added to the design for enhanced security.
