The Georgia 250,000 Kuponi banknote from the 1994 coupon series was designed by Nodar and Bachana Malazonia. It measures 115 x 55 mm and depicts ancient carvings found in the Samtavisi Cathedral. Its front design features a carving of a griffin flanking a Borjgali, the symbol of the sun and tree of life, and a vertical gray stripe at the right edge of the watermark area. At the back is a well-crafted carving of a grapevine. The note does not contain any security threads however when placed under a UV light, a watermark parallelogram pattern is visible.
